The results of work during the summer period of 2020

The summer tourist season of 2020 is behind, and the ETI can sum up its results. For the company, as well as for the entire travel industry, the summer was difficult; it was unrealistic to make any plans in the ever-changing situation on the travel market. Although the borders opened and air traffic resumed in early June, tourists, seriously scared by the sad experience of quarantine, were in no hurry to plunge into the world of travel again. During the summer, the tourism business was learning to work in a pandemic, and tourists were trying to get used to traveling in new realities.

During the three summer months of 2020, the company insured 63% fewer tourists than during the same period in 2019, when more than 612 thousand tourists were insured for the three summer months. At the same time, it should be noted that the number of ETI-insured tourists traveling in Ukraine has decreased by almost 58%, while those traveling abroad have decreased by 64%. In June-August of 2020, ETI insured more than 191 thousand tourists traveling abroad and more than 35 thousand tourists traveling within Ukraine.

In total, during the summer period of this year, the company registered 1873 insurance events with tourists abroad in the amount of UAH 10,602,000 and 45 cases with travelers on the territory of Ukraine for a total of UAH 122,000.

If in June only 86 insurance events with tourists abroad were registered, then in August their number increased to 1,417 cases in the amount of 7 million 326 thousand UAH, of which 908 cases were in Turkey (in comparison, in July, 360 insurance events were registered abroad and 243 of them occurred with tourists in Turkey), 215 events were recorded in Egypt, 121 events occurred with tourists in Bulgaria, other insurance events in August were registered with tourists in Croatia (51), Montenegro (31) and Albania (14).

Unfortunately, ETI has its own sad statistics on insurance events related to COVID-19. During the summer period, 12 cases of coronavirus were registered among the company's clients, two of which, in Turkey and Poland, were fatal.

Also, during the summer period, the company registered 44 insurance events in connection with the trip cancellation, of which in 15 cases the reason for the cancellation of the trip was the illness of tourists with the coronavirus infection COVID-19.

In 2020, ETI continues to actively work on new insurance products. In the spring of this year, the company offered its customers a new ONLINE product — Insurance for work abroad, which, according to the Visa Code, is a prerequisite for obtaining a long-term visa for employment abroad. The ETI insurance policy meets all the requirements of the visa centers and guarantees insurance coverage to Ukrainian citizens working abroad for the entire policy period. In September 2020, the company's product portfolio will be added by another product designed to protect the interests of foreign citizens who plan business and tourist trips to Ukraine. The ETI insurance policy covers the risks of foreign tourists associated with COVID-19, which is a prerequisite for crossing the border of Ukraine, and it also meets all the requirements for obtaining a Ukrainian visa.

Regardless of any pandemics, ETI is and will be ALWAYS WITH YOU AROUND THE WORLD, and always takes care of  you!
